This fantastic handmade necklace by Bess Heitner features a handpainted artistic miniature portrait of a young courtier with a red hat, based on a painting by Boticelli. The black onyx pendant has been painstakingly covered with many layers of oil paint, egg tempura, gold foil, and lacquer to create the dramatic effect. The pendant, crowned with a 14K gold rondel and 24K Swarovski crystal, hangs from a gold wire wrapped chain of white freshwater pearls and jet discs.
