Karen Burton is a visual artist and photographer as well as a textile & graphic/web designer. Her textile designs have been sold to clients such as Macy’s, Martex, J.P. Stevens, Springs Industries, Gitano Accessories, Current Inc., and St. Clair Pakwell. Burton's abstract watercolors are fluid, spontaneous and gestural, playing with color and visual texture. Her one-of-a-kind hand-painted silk scarves and couture pillows evolved from a desire to recreate the look of her watercolors onto fabric. Burton works in her studio on a hillside near Waterford, Virginia overlooking the beautiful western Loudoun County countryside with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. She is also owner of the art consulting firm Rendezvous Gallery and its online gallery www.rendezvousstyle.com.
Karen is also working on new digital work that features flowers, food and everyday objects - part of her "Favorite Things" series. A select group of her florals are now availabe here, printed on luxurious archival paper - ready to frame.
